About me
I've always enjoyed playing games, but my interest in game development really started when I decided that I wanted to change careers and try something completely different. I started learning game development on my own and quickly became interested in understanding how games actually work and why certain mechanics feel good to play. That eventually led me towards Technical Design, where I get to work with both gameplay design and implementation.
I particularly enjoy working on player mechanics, combat, AI and gameplay systems. I like taking an idea, figuring out how it could work in-game and then iterating on it until it feels right. I also enjoy building systems and tools that other designers can work with, rather than creating something that only I understand how to use.
There's still a lot I want to learn and improve on as a designer. Working with people from other disciplines is a big part of that, especially when different perspectives lead to discussions and ideas I wouldn't have reached on my own. Being able to challenge each other's decisions and solve problems together is something I really value when working in a team.

PLAYER FIRST
Every decision should empower the player and create meaningful experiences.
CLARITY THROUGH DESIGN
Complexity is powerful when it's presented clearly, feels intuitive, and can be learned through play.
BUILD FOR OTHERS
Systems and tools should be easy for other developers to understand, use and build upon.
